Jane Halling

Jane Frances Halling, age 71, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away on October 21, 2026, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was born on January 27, 1955, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Walter Lentz and Bernice (Ernzen) Lentz.

Jane attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Mount St. Scholastica. She built a life centered on family, and she also found enjoyment in gardening and woodworking.

On October 12, 1974, she married Michael J. Halling. They shared more than thirty years together until his passing on February 5, 2008. She is also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Vincent Lentz; and her sisters, Thelma Metcalf and Elizabeth Lentz.

Jane is survived by her children and their families. She leaves her son, Dennis Halling, and his wife, Tricia; her daughters, Melissa McDaniel, and her husband, Doug, and Rebecca Halling, and her husband, Jonathan Jones; her eight grandchildren; her sister, Anna Marie Haupt, and her husband, Larry; and her brother, Wesley Lentz.

No services will be held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
