James "Gene" Pruett

James Eugene "Gene" Pruett, 62, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away January 5, 2018.
Services will be Saturday, Jan. 13, at Abel Funeral Home, 1627 N. 51st Ave, Phoenix. Cremation will follow the service. www.abelfuneralservices.com.
Gene was born February 19, 1955 the son of James F. and Mary (Amos) Pruett in Atchison, Kansas.
He and Jane Truman were united in marriage on October 10, 1981.
He was a lifetime truck driver. His favorite hobby was racing his go-cart. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a wonderful person who had a great sense of humor. He would always be there to pick you up when you were down. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Jane, three children, Jason, Jamie and Travis, four grandchildren, seven brothers, Dolan, Billy, Ronnie, Jimmy, Danny, Lawrence, and Tim Pruett, nine sisters, Ruth, Donna, Cathleen, Barbara, Tammie, Jenna, Catherine, Angela, and Lawanda, step-mother, Ruth Pruett Johnson and thirty-two nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Pruett; niece, Brandi, great niece Irelynn and great nephew Tommy.
