James R. Frans

James R. Frans, 71, Atchison, Kansas, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor, Marty Reed, officiating. A private family interment will be at Monrovia Cemetery at a later date.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School Grant Fund and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

James was born May 18, 1952, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of James F. and Deloris (Halstead) Frans. He attended school in St. Joseph, Missouri, graduating from Benton High School.

On September 24, 2009, he and Deborah Swendson were united in marriage. Mrs. Frans preceded him in death on December 26, 2022.

James was employed as an assistant manager at Big Lots.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. James was a big fan of Elvis.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela Figueiredo, Gulf Breeze, FL, his brother, Gerald Frans, St. Joseph, MO, a sister, Cathy Frans-Valladares, Greenville, SC, and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his wife Debbie, his parents, and a sister, Debra Frans.
