Howard D. "Jack" Nieman, 78, Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Atchison Hospital.
Memorial services will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Interment will follow in Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church and may be left in care of the funeral home. Howard was born January 12, 1935, in Nortonville, Kansas, the son of Richard and Cleone Shasteen Nieman. He attended school in Effingham, Kansas.
He and the former Audra Thomas were united in marriage in 1975, in Atchison, Kansas, she preceded him in death on June 28, 1990.
Howard was a self employed carpenter, also working for many companies during the years in carpentry.
He was an member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was also an associate member of V.F.W. and the American Legion.
Survivors include a son, Christopher M. Nieman, California, a sister, Kay Norton, Atchison, KS, a brother, Burton Nieman, Arvada, CO.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Nieman Harris and two brothers, Loren Nieman and Keith Nieman.
