Harley Sargent, 69, Atchison, Kansas, died Monday, January 20, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Sargent was cremated, and a celebration of life will be at a later date. Memorial contributions to help with final expenses may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Harley was born September 27, 1955, the son of Carl and Maxine (Schroeder) Sargent, in Perryton, Texas. He graduated from Balko High School in Balko, Oklahoma, and attended Vo-Tech in Liberal, Kansas, specializing in automotive repair.

He and Deborah Timmer were united in marriage on August 30, 1975, in Liberal, Kansas.

Harley enjoyed farming, taking care of cattle and was always very proud of how hard he worked to earn his welding job. He loved a good western and a bowl of popcorn. With his many joys in life his greatest was spending time with his grandchildren. Harley appreciated gardening and playing pool with his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah, two sons, Corey (Georgette) Sargent, Atchison, KS, Jacob Sargent, Woodward, OK, a daughter, Krystle (Noel) Garcia, Carlsbad, NM, three sisters, Janice Osborne, Pam Jones, and Karen Payne, six grandchildren, Savannah Naumann, Carl Sargent, Noel Garcia, Isaac Garcia, Fabian Garcia, Aiden Garcia, and a great granddaughter, Lillianah Naumann.
