Gloria C. Seeger, 76, Independence, Missouri formerly of Atchison, Kansas died Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Villages at Jackson Creek Nursing Facility.
Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Gabriel Landis, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will be held on Wednesday, September 4th at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict School Endowment, St. Benedict's Abbey or Maur Hill-Mt. Academy and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Gloria was born January 25, 1937 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Floyd Bluma. She attended Washington Elementary School, graduating from Atchison High School in 1955.
She and Jerome R. Seeger were united in marriage on January 25, 1958 at St. Joseph's Church, Atchison, Kansas.
Gloria was a member of St. Mark's Church, Independence, Missouri.
Gloria dedicated herself to serving her family as a wife and homemaker. As her children grew in age, she occasionally assisted in many capacities at different businesses around Independence.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-five years, Jerome R. Seeger, of the couple's home in Independence, MO, two daughters, Sherra M. (Kevin) Taylor, Independence, MO, Kelly K. (Robert) Ball, Independence, MO, two sons, Kevin R. (Sharon) Seeger, Corona, CA, Kirk J. (Kathy) Seeger, Independence, MO, and eight grandchildren, Sean and Matthew Taylor, Jessica Seeger, Lauren, Allison, and Collin Seeger, and Joseph and Madeline Ball.
