Geraldine Mae Crowley, 104, departed this life on December 29, 2012, in Colorado.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Troy, Kansas.

Geraldine was born September 19, 1908, in Troy, Kansas. She was the daughter of Albert and Pearl Virginia Hughes Sportsmen. She attended East Side Elementary School in Troy. She graduated in 1926, from Bartlett High, St. Joseph, Missouri.

She was a 50 year plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a devoted member of Wayman Chapel AME Church in Troy, Kansas. Geraldine worked as a nurse assistant for Dr. Stuart in Atchison. She also enjoyed working in her garden, sewing and spending time with her great grandchildren.

Geraldine married Earl Richard Crowley on August 13, 1940, and had one daughter, Gloria Patty Sportsman Boldridge, passed in 1994. She leaves to cherish her memories, grandson Roger Boldridge, Overland Park, KS, Granddaughter, Jane Boldridge Gross, Highlands Ranch, CO, five great grandchildren, four first cousins, Betty Jane Hughes, New York, Ruth Anna Ewing, St. Joseph, MO, Clifford Hughes, California, and a host of relatives.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Cecelia who passed in infancy.
