Genevieve M. "Genny" Drimmel, 93, of Atchison, Kansas passed away May 4, 2018 at her home.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Benedict Church with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Parish rosary will be on Sunday, May 6 th , at 2:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict Parish or St. Benedict Catholic School and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Genevieve was born on January 8, 1925 in Nortonville, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Regina (Orscheln) Weishaar. She attended St. Joseph's Elementary School in Nortonville, Kansas and graduated from Nortonville High School in 1942.
She and Clarence F. Drimmel were united in marriage on August 27, 1947 at St. Joseph's Church in Nortonville, Kansas. Mr. Drimmel preceded her in death on June 9, 2000.
Genny was previously employed at Electra Manufacturing and later served as the bookkeeper and secretary for her husband at Drimmel Electric for over 30 years.
She was a member of St. Benedict Parish, Atchison Shepherds Center, Atchison Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered in the hospital gift shop, and the Senior Bowling League. She enjoyed reading, embroidering, crocheting, working puzzles and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Brey, Lawrence, KS, Constance "Connie" (Joe) Brickner, Shawnee, KS, a son, Ivan Karl Drimmel, Kansas City, MO, four sisters, Lavern Davis, Nortonville, KS, Betty Jean Franks, Judy Wagner, Mary Ann Hall, all of Topeka, KS, two grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Elvin, Vernon and Edwin Weishaar, and an infant sister, Eileen Weishaar.
