Gary Lee Funk, 63, Atchison, Kansas died Sunday, December 7, 1014 at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Mr. Funk has been cremated. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
Gary was born April 1, 1951 in St. Joseph, Missouri the son of Wilbur and Marie Kretzer Funk. He attended Rushville Elementary School and Dekalb High School.
He and Karen Vandiver were united in marriage on August 16, 2002 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Gary was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for several years and as a truck driver for Blish-Mize Company for three years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Funk of the couple's home in Atchison; son, Ronnie (Jamie) Funk, Effingham, KS, step son, J. R. Bilderback, Atchison, KS, two daughters, Rhonda Wentz, Effingham, KS, Yvonne Funk, Cummings, KS, two brothers, Calvin Funk, St. Joseph, MO, Stan (Diann) Funk, Atchison, KS, four sisters, Connie Scholl, St. Joseph, MO, Janet (Marty Dawson) Kimberling, St. Joseph, MO, Pam Funk, St. Joseph, MO, Donna (Bobby) Dray, Plattsburg, MO, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Trainer, three brothers, Gerald Funk, Bobby Funk, and Dean Funk.
