Gail Lee (Johnston) Perkins Blanc died February 26, 2013 at her daughter, Della's home. She passes after a valiant fight with lung disease. Her strong will to live, faith in God, and the love and prayers of her family and friends carried her through the recent months of illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Humane Society and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Gail was born on September 15, 1940 in Atchison, Kansas to Clarence and Edith Johnston.
She leaves many to mourn and celebrate in her memory, brothers and sisters, Sharon Ferris, Eleanor Lackland, Ronnie Johnston, Randy Johnston, children and spouses, Charlene (Perkins) Sanders and Larry, Charles Perkins, Jr. and Rebecca, Della (Perkins) Kephart and Jay, Stephan Johnston, Joseph Johnston, Grandchildren, Jason Skarboe, Mandy (Skarboe) Meister, Laci (Skarboe) Majorins, Sarah Perkins, Charles E. Perkins, III, Nicholas Perkins, Rachel Noll, seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, Nephews, cousins, and friends.
Gail lived in the Atchison area all of her life. She loved her pets, family members, and was known to many as "Mom".
Family members who have preceded her in death include her parents, brothers, Charles Johnston, Darrel Johnston, and Larry Johnston, sisters, Joyce Jean Harvey, Suzette Foster, Sandy Shaw and great granddaughters, Shaci and Eljay Murphy.
