Frances F. Cripe, 90, Highland, Kansas, formerly of Atchison died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, Kansas. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Frances was born August 9, 1923, in Oak Mills, Kansas, the daughter of William Andrew and Lilly Ratliff Brookshire. She attended Sacs Country School.

She was employed with Atchison Leather Products as a seamstress for 18 years.

She and Carmen Rivers were married in Atchison, Kansas, and were later divorced. She then married Drury Watson in Paola, Kansas, Mr. Watson preceded her in death. She and Merle Cripe were united in marriage on February 14, 1989, at the First Christian Church in Atchison, Kansas. Mr. Cripe preceded her in death.

Frances was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing and photography. She also liked to play dominos and bingo.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol Wentz, Atchison, KS, Linda Grable, Troy, KS, Patti Sprague, Osborn, MO, and two sons, Robert Rivers, Wichita, KS, Edwin Rivers, Gatesville, TX, sixteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Carmen Wayne Rivers, a grandson, Jonathan Rivers and a sister, Julia Wood.
