Evelyn Louise Shepherd, 79, Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Memorial services will be Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00 A. M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Reverend Nancy J Kolhoff officiating. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, May 7th from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born August 25, 1935 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of John and Awnza Redman York. She attended Atchison Elementary Schools, graduating from Atchison High School in 1953.
Evelyn worked for many years at the Atchison Hospital as an admitting clerk and in the Lab at the hospital.
She and Ken Bailey were united in marriage in 1954 in Atchison. Mr. Bailey preceded her in death. She later married Dallas Shepherd in 1993 in Atchison. Mr. Shepherd preceded her in death in 2013.
Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family. She was known for her quick sense of humor with her family and friends.
Evelyn is survived by a son, Mark Bailey, Atchison, KS, a daughter, Vicky Peck, Lebanon, OR, two brothers, Maurice York, Albany, MO, Marion York, Albany, MO, one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John York.
