Elaine Elizabeth Torbett

Elaine Torbett, 78, Atchison, Kansas, died Monday, August 14, 2023, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Cremation care has been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home and no formal services are planned. A private burial will be at a later date at Sumner Cemetery.

Elaine was born, October 14, 1944, in Holton, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Arlene (Gunselman) Moore. She graduated from Circleville Rural High School.

On August 18, 1984, she married Thomas G. Torbett at South Park Methodist Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. Mr. Torbett preceded her in death on March 30, 2010.

Elaine was employed with Rockwell International then later at Fargo Assembly. She enjoyed machine knitting.

Survivors include two sons, David Elliott, Atchison, KS, Brian (Sandra) Elliott, Atchison, KS, two daughters, Tracey (James) Skinner, Forest, MS, Kim (Don) Howard, Independence, MO, two sisters, Mary Mick, Holton, KS, Teresa (Myron) Emmons, Horton, KS, eleven children and fourteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Moore, James Moore, Joseph Moore, one sister, Rose Hladky.
