Dylan McGrath Johnson, formerly of Atchison, passed away Dec. 6th, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by friends and family at the age of 54 after losing his battle with cancer
On February 17th, 1971, the world became a little brighter with the birth of this beautiful human, a caring, charismatic, and charming character who loved to laugh and make others feel special.
Dylan is the son of Elizabeth Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson. He graduated from Maur Hill in 1989, moved to Dallas in 1990, married Jennie Carney in 2010, and had their son, Brody, in 2011.
Dylan leaves behind his father (Renée), wife, son, brothers, Kennedy (Angie) Johnson, Lee (Bonnie) Johnson, Jere Becker, and sister, Kelly (Mike) Elias, along with many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Kevin Johnson.
He was a legendary bartender and friend in the Dallas area for many years before opening his own restaurant, Dylan’s BBQ Saloon, and purchasing Milo’s Bar. Under his ownership, Milo's was voted the best Upscale Dive Bar in Arlington and the #6 Dive Bar in the state of Texas. He leaves behind a loving community of friends in Dallas.
And in the words spoken by some of his friends: He habitually attracted people, brought them together, and became the glue in their most treasured friendships. It is difficult to put into words what someone like Dylan leaves behind. It’s not just memories – it’s impact, warmth, and the echo of kindness. He made you laugh louder, smile bigger, and love harder. We are deeply grateful for his life.
In the words of Elton John: “Your candle burned out long before your legend ever will."
