Dorothy E. Fleming, 98, Leavenworth, Kansas died October 16, 2016 at Highland Health Care in Highland, Kansas.
Private funeral services will be Saturday, October 29, 2016. Interment will be Monday, October 31, 2016 at Leavenworth National Cemetery. The body will be available for viewing by the public on Friday, October 28th from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born October 5, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska the daughter of Charles and Effie Powell Watson. She attended schools in Lawrence, Kansas.
Dorothy served in the dietary department of Leavenworth County Hospital and Cushing Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas, for thirty five years until her retirement.
She and Arthur S. Green, Sr., were united in marriage on August 1, 1939 in Atchison, Kansas. Mr. Green preceded her in death in March 1969. She and Ovaland Fleming, Sr., were united in marriage on September 19, 1980 in Leavenworth, Kansas. Mr. Fleming preceded her in death in February 1993.
Dorothy leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Barbara Jean (Michael) Douglas, Anaheim, CA; four sons, Leonard "Pepper" (Coyetta) Green, Atchison, KS; James A. Green, Jr., Thailand; Arthur S. (Mary) Green, Jr., Las Vegas, NV; Steven K. (Ginger) Green, Lawrence, KS; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. and Ronald D.; three brothers, Charles; John Joseph and Robert; and three sisters, Ruth, Mattie, Roberta.
