Donna Willming, 71, Atchison, Kansas, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church with Abbot Barnabas Senecal, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. A parish rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 24th at 5:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mosaic Life Care-Two South Oncology Unit and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, with whom the final arrangements have been entrusted.
Donna was born August 2, 1943, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond A. and Mary Ellen Regan Matthews. She attended St. Patrick's Elementary School and graduated from Mount Saint Scholastica Academy.
She and Gary W. Willming were united in marriage on August 7, 1961, at St. Joseph's Church. Mr. Willming preceded her in death on February 17, 1998.
Donna was the secretary for Sacred Heart Church for fifteen years, and served as the director of the Sacred Heart Thrift Store since its beginning. She formerly ran the Roost at Maur Hill Prep School for numerous years. She and her children would clean Sacred Heart School, Sacred Heart Church and the Roost each day after school.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors include a son, Wade A. (Heather) Willming, Louisburg, KS, two daughters, Lora J. Willming, Atchison, KS, Carrie A. (Norman) Jones, Atchison, KS, four granddaughters, Aubrie Jones, Laney Jones, Eleanor Willming, Elizabeth Willming, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special family friend, Dennis Watowa, Atchison, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Bryan Willming, two brothers, David L. Matthews, Raymond E. Matthews, two sisters, Linda J. Rivers, Patricia L. Arensberg, and a nephew Jonathan Rivers.
