Donald L. "Don" Moore, 78, Atchison, Kansas died Sunday October 5, 2014 at Living Community in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Jason Terpack, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, October 8th from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to V. F. W. Post #1175 or Atchison Humane Society and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Don was born March 20, 1936 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Leonard O. and Emilie Liepold Moore. He attended elementary schools in Atchison, graduating from Atchison High School. He attended St. Benedict's College and then DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, graduating after two years.

Don served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1960 serving in Korea until his honorable discharge.

He and Mary Ann Grimes were united in marriage on August 11, 1962 at Wyatt Park Christian Church, St. Joseph, Missouri. Mrs. Moore preceded him in death on October 15, 2010.

For many years Don owned and operated the Moore's Town and Country TV and Radio repair shop. Prior to opening his repair shop he worked as a residential electrician in Orlando, Florida. He then became employed with Walmart as an electronics clerk where he served for over twenty five years, retiring in 2012.

He was a member of V. F. W. Post #1175 in Atchison and in his free time he enjoyed planting and tending an extensive vegetable garden.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Michael and Kim Moore, St. Joseph, MO, twin grandchildren, Aaron and Payton Moore, St. Joseph, MO, two sisters, Harriet Aldridge, Atchison, KS and Mary Lou Cummins, Atchison, KS.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Kyle Moore, two brothers, Leonard Carl (Sonny) Moore and Robert Moore.
