Donald Richard Levell, Jr.

The oldest of four children, Donald Richard Levell, Jr was born to Donald and Cozetta Levell on January 8, 1952 in Atchison, Kansas and passed on February 20, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas.

Moving to Des Moines at an early age, Don Jr. was educated in the Des Moines Public School System. He graduated from East High School in 1970. He attended and graduated from Grandview College in 2001.

Donnie, affectionately known by most, loved sports. Playing football like he was "Gale Sayers" and baseball with the Des Moines Dragons. Donnie had a huge interest in CBs and spent hours talking with others. Donnie had a great sense of humor and loved being the comedian and making others laugh while cracking up laughing himself.

Donnie was employed by AMF.

Donnie married Johnetta Taylor on October 8, 1983 and raised her daughter Bobbi as his own.

Donnie is preceded in death by his father, Donald Sr; his grandparents, Frank Sr. and Zelma (Bradford) Levell, Oscar Crosswright, Floyd and Gladys (Wrothwell) Toler; his nephew Antione (Tony) Levell; his uncles Frank Levell Jr, Allan Lewis Sr., John Pennington Sr., William Lindsey, Joseph Norman, George Miles, Charles Vaughn, Charles Benson and Glenn Sayles; his aunts Margaret, Helen, Rosie, Frances and Darlene.

Donnie leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Cozetta: his siblings David of Atlanta Ga, Crystal and Terra of Des Moines, IA; his daughter Bobbi; nieces, Ashley, Kaila and Anessa; nephews Jordan and Cameron (Shyle); his aunts Ernestine Benson, Carol Lewis and Eloise Levell, of Kansas. Special friends, Johnetta Levell, Yvonne Roder, Michelle Roder Webb and Marie Davis; and a host of cousins, friends and acquaintances.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, Kansas. Visitation and viewing will begin at 12 Noon on Saturday at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home and a procession will leave the funeral home at 12:45pm.
