Diana Frances Ferris of Purcell KS, passed away on September 27, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born on April 7, 1947 in St. Joseph Missouri. The daughter of Arthur Bittick and Edna Maxine (Davis) Bittick. She married Billy Ferris on March 2, 1962, at the First Christian Church in Atchison Kansas and have been blessed with sixty-four years of marriage.

Diana grew up in Trenton Missouri, where she attended school. Later in life she completed her CNA training at Atchison Vo-Tech. She worked at Drury's Tea Room, also as a personal caretaker, then later served as a certified nursing assistant at a local care facility in Horton. In each role, she gave care and attention to others in a way that reflected her kind and selfless nature.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Diana enjoyed many simple pleasures in life. She had a green thumb and loved house plants. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, feeding the birds, and even had a wild fox friend, whom she’d feed on her deck. She was great with children, loved to bake her famous Christmas sugar cookies for her family, and was known for making the best potato salad around. She enjoyed bingo and reading in her spare time.

Diana is survived by her husband, Billy Ferris; her sons, Adam Ferris and Terry (Ronda) Ferris; her daughter, Leann (Richard) Bailes; and her sister, Juanita Cunzler; her ten grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

She was great with children, loved to bake her famous Christmas sugar cookies for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Callie Ferris; her son, Timothy Ferris; her daughter-in-law, Tina Jarrett Ferris; her sisters, Ruby Catherall and Donna Butner; and her brothers, Wallace "Sonny" Bittick and Arthur "Bud" Bittick, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Cremation care has been provided by the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
