Diana Marie Betts-Bryant, 58, Atchison, Kansas died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Atchison Senior Village.

An Atchison Elks Lodge service will be Monday, January 19, 2015 at 6:30 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:30 P.M. Graveside services and burial will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer's Foundation or Northeast Kansas Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Diana was born August 21, 1956 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Raymond Kenneth and Virginia L. Mair Betts. She attended schools in Atchison, Kansas. She then attended Northeast Kansas Vocational Technical School where she acquired her certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse and later attended and graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree in nursing as a registered nurse.

Diana was a communicant of St. Benedict Parish, Atchison, Kansas and a member of the Atchison Elk's Lodge.

Diana served in the United States Army Reserves and was called to active duty in support of desert storm. She received the Army service ribbon, national defense medal, Army lapel button, NCO professional development ribbon, rifle marksman and sharpshooter during her service.

As a registered nurse, Diana had also served as a medical missionary in Haiti.

Survivors include two daughters, Prudence (Robert) Gwartney, Easton, KS, Penelope (Robert) Schultz, Weston, MO, her mother, Virginia Betts, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Steve (Debbie) Betts, Atchison, KS, Timothy (Cindy) Betts, Halls, IL, five grandchildren, Jordan Schultz, Robert Gwartney, Wyatt Gwartney, Rob (Elena) Schultz, Bryon Schultz, two great grandchildren Ryder and Easton Schultz, niece Cheyenne and great nephew Kaden.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Kenneth Betts, and a niece Stephanie Betts.
