Denise Kimberling

Denise R. Kimberling, 65, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away on March 4, 2026, at KU after a brief illness.

Denise was born October 24, 1960, in Atchison, Kansas, to Pete and Helen (Boggs) Bailey. She spent much of her life as a go getter and entrepreneur of many trades. She was known for her free spirit and independent nature.

Denise had a love for rock and roll, garage sales, antiques, and cats. She embraced life with a unique spirit and a personality that those who knew her will always remember.

She is survived by her two daughters, Erin Kane and Carley Kimberling, along with three grandchildren, Christopher Goodpasture, Ella Heilig, and Atlas Heilig.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack Kimberling, who passed away March 8, 2002.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
