Delia A. "Pete" Burge, 89, Atchison, Kansas died Monday, October 5, 2015 at Country Care Nursing Center, Easton, Kansas.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 9, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Hansen officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday Oct. 9th from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Country Care Nursing Center, Easton, Kansas and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Delia was born August 28, 1926 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Bryant and Myrtle Tull Hundley. She attended Atchison public schools.
She and Ernest Wesley Burge were united in marriage on October 1, 1943 in Troy, Kansas. Mr. Burge preceded her in death on April 12, 1991.
Delia was affectionately known by her family and many friends as Pete. She worked for many years in California for the Robertshaw Factory on the assembly line. She had also worked in Atchison for the Electra Manufacturing Company, Wilson Poultry Company, Hundley Tire Company and was a representative for Stanley Products, going in home to her many customers.
She attended the Carol Baptist Church and in her spare time and retirement enjoyed doing cross word, crocheting and her greatest enjoyment was "winning" at the one arm bandits in the casinos.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Kris) Burge, Sr., St. George, UT, two daughters, Sandi Burge, Atchison, KS, Kathy (Phil) Engeman, Murietta, CA, a brother, Harold (Susan) Hundley, St. Joseph, MO, two sisters, Betty Jean Miner, Atchison, KS, Dorothy Wilburn, Atchison, KS, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Pete was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Lee Burge and Earl Wesley Burge, four brothers, Henry, James, Earl and Charles Hundley and one sister Ruby Cox.
