Darlene Teresa Schuler, 74, Atchison, Kansas died Wednesday June 19, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict's Church with Rev. Gerard Senecal, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 22nd from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at the church with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 A.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to Maur Hill-Mount Academy and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final arrangements have been entrusted.
After being employed at Business Men's Assurance, Darlene became an excellent wife and mother. She was an artist and painting became her passion.
She was born May 29, 1939 in Atchison the daugher of Ralph H. and Katharine Osborne Bromley. She attended St. Joseph's Elementary School, graduating from Mt. Saint Scholastica Academy, Atchison and Highland Community Junior College, Highland, Kansas.
She was a member of St. Benedict's Church.
She and Carl L. Schuler were united in marriage on June 3, 1961 at St. Joseph's Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Marie K. Schuler, Atchison, KS, two sons and their wives, Wilfred D. and Gail Schuler, Hazel Green, WI; and Carl L. Jr. and Lea Ann Schuler, Creston, IA; thirteen grandchildren, Adlai Schuler (Nicole), Sr. Josephine Schuler, CFR, , Haley Stabo (Nick), Morgan Schuler (fiancee Jordan), Blair Schuler, Shane, Luke, Sam, Eli and Mallory Panchot, Carlea, Leah and Sophia Schuler, two sisters, Marjorie Root, Sioux Falls, SD and Kitty Blakely, Rushville, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents, Ralph & Katharine Bromley, sisters, Dorothy Keimig and Mary Alice Sarratt, brothers, Daniel Bromley, David Bromley, John Bromley and Howard Gene Bromley.
