Connie Marie Heider, 83, of Atchison, passed away at the Medicalodge of Atchison.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Williams officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services. A private family interment will be held at the Scranton Cemetery, Scranton Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Atchison Library, Atchison Hospital or the United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the funeral home. Connie M. Harrison was born on March 1, 1928 in Scranton, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Jessie Harrison. She graduated from Scranton High School. Connie was married to Glenn M. Heider on November 26, 1947, in Scranton. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Atchison and actively involved in church activities for many years. In addition, she did volunteer work with the Atchison Hospital Auxiliary, Atchison Visitor Center and was a member of Chapter J PEO for several years. She supported her children's education and school involvement serving as Cub Scout and Brownie Scout Troop leader and was active in the PTA.
Connie had a strong loyalty to the Atchison community and enjoyed working with people of all ages. She was the Atchison High School Secretary for 21 years and an employee of the Atchison Library for 28 years. She loved helping people, being out in the community and was always quick to lend a hand to people who needed assistance.
She enjoyed reading, raising flowers, following the activities of her family and listening to KU football and basketball games.
Survivors include her brother; Robert D. (Ruth) Harrison, Carbondale, KS; a daughter, Cheryl and Wally Kletzker, Tulsa, OK, and their two children Tamara Kletzker (Edwin) Miranda, Tulsa, OK, and Julia Kletzker (Andrew) Ingle, Antioch, TN ; two sons, Mark and Chris Heider, Lawrence, KS and their three children Matt Heider, Dallas, TX, Stephani Heider (Bobby) Boyd, Lawrence, KS, and Sarah Heider, Round Rock, TX; and Jeff Heider, Effingham, KS, and his son Micah Heider, Pittsburg, KS; and 3 great grandchildren, David Miranda, Isabel Ingle and James Ingle.
