Christopher "Chris" Kelly, 57, Atchison, Kansas died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
Homegoing services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Second Christian Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, from noon until service time at the church. Final care has been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Christopher was born May 14, 1962 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Theodore and Alberta Hunter Kelly. He attended Martin East and Martin West Elementary Schools and graduated from Atchison High School in 1980. He then attended Cosmetology College in Topeka, Kansas.
Christopher moved to Alexandria, Virginia and served for twenty years as a cosmetologist in the Alexandria, Virginia and surrounding areas. He returned to Atchison and assisted his family as a caregiver for his mother and grandmother.
Christopher was known to be funny, sensitive, loved his family, life of the party, great dancer, loved music, light up a room, strong opinions, when he believed in something or someone he really did. He was a people person, genuine he kept 100 with people as the young people say.
Survivors include his mother, Alberta Mae Kelly, Atchison, KS; his maternal grandmother, Birdie Arthine Hunter, Atchison, KS; two sisters, Arthine Kelly, Topeka, KS; Sherri Kelly, Topeka, KS; three brothers, Curtis Kelly, Sioux Falls, SD; Steven Everage, Atchison, KS; and Mickey Everage, Atchison, KS.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Theodore "Ted" Kelly; brother, Mark Richard Kelly; maternal grandfather, David Hunter and paternal grandparents, John & Hattie Mae Kelly.
