Christopher Guy Hamlin, born on December 2, 1972, at Atchison Hospital, passed away at his home in Atchison, Kansas, on March 18, 2026.
A graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, Chris built a lifelong career within the restaurant industry. His professional life saw him dedicate many years to Palma's Mexican Restaurant in St. Joseph, MO, where his commitment and service were well regarded. Later, he took on the role of manager at the Applebee's location in Maryville, MO.
After many years, Chris returned to his hometown of Atchison, Kansas, where he continued to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time out with his family, dining together, and reconnecting with friends. Known among his close circle for his love of gaming, Chris enjoyed the camaraderie and lasting friendships formed through this shared hobby. His passion for cooking was evident in his dedication to cultivating his own garden, ensuring fresh produce to enhance the meals he so loved to prepare.
Chris is survived by his siblings, Ginger (Dick) Hunninghake, Dallas Hamlin, and Rene (Jerry) Hatcher. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember his kindness and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Hamlin and Gayle (Hart); his sister, Dana Brandt; and his brother, Mitchell Hamlin.
A visitation to honor and remember Christopher will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, located at 208 North 5th Street, Atchison, KS 66002. This will be a time for family, friends, and community members to come together to share memories and celebrate his life. Memorials may be left to the Atchison Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
