Chester Eugene Gardner

Chester E. Gardner, 73, formerly of Atchison, Kansas, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in Kansas City, Kansas.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024, at Mt. Washington Cemetery, 614 S. Brookside Ave, Independence, Missouri 64053. Funeral care has been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Chester was born July 17, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of John C. and Monnie Jo (Masters) Gardner. Chester lived at Bean Lake before moving to Atchison in 1993, where he lived for many years and worked at the Achievement Services Workshop.

He was a member of New Life Assembly of God Church in Atchison.  He enjoyed watching sporting events of the Royals and Kansas City Chiefs, reading, listening to Billy Graham and Oral Roberts music and dancing.

Survivors include a sister, Bonnie (Tom) Reese, Atchison, KS; a niece, Bonnie Jo Dreiling, Joplin, MO. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Jo Dreiling and two brothers, Tommy Gardner and James Gardner.
