Carole Tilton

Carole K. Tilton, 78, Hiawatha, Kansas, died Sunday, February 9, 2020, at her residence.

No services are scheduled at this time. Carole has been cremated under the care and direction of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas.

Carole was born January 18, 1942, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest and Anna (Proctor) Chambers. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in Effingham, Kansas.

She and Paul J. Tilton were united in marriage in Atchison, Kansas. Mr. Tilton preceded her in death.

She enjoyed reading and doing various puzzles.

Carole is survived by three sons, John Gilliland, Wichita Falls, TX, James Gilliland, Leavenworth, KS, Steve Gilliland, Excelsior Springs, MO, a step-daughter, Sharyl Fritz, White Cloud, KS, six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, James David Horton, a brother, Dale Chambers and a sister, Marilyn Hurst.
