Brenda Merrill

Brenda Merrill, 60, of Huron, Kansas, died Friday, January 3, 2025, at her residence.

Memorial service will be Friday, January 10, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. Jon Hullinger as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in the church garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to assist with service expenses, left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Brenda was born February 13, 1964, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Edward H. Myers, Sr. and Anna L. (Hays) Myers.

Brenda formerly worked as an associate at Wal-Mart and at several convenience stores in the area. In her younger years she was very creative drawing and coloring and enjoyed staying busy in her yard caring for her flowers, especially her peonies. She loved watching movies and ended every night with the Green Mile playing in the background. She truly loved her family. She enjoyed caring for those in need and nothing was better to her than being a Nana.

She and Larry E. Merrill were married July 5, 1984, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Atchison, Kansas. Mr. Merrill preceded her in death on October 7, 2021.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Merrill (Jared Hundley), Huron, KS, a stepdaughter, Melissa Merrill, Huron, KS; a stepson, Larry (Candi) Merrill, Atchison, KS; four grandchildren, five siblings, Donald Myers, Daryl Myers, Duane Myers, Dwight Myers, Ruthy Colby; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry Merrill, and siblings, Bonnie Merrill, Jimmy Myers, Edward Myers, Jr., and Gary Joe Myers.
