Brenda Lyda Hester

Brenda Hester, 50, Leavenworth, Kansas, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospice House.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, July 28th from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Brenda was born May 11, 1965, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Ervin Ray Hudson and Molly Louise Oliver. She attended Washington School and graduated from Atchison High School in 1983.

She and Tem Hester were united in marriage on June 24, 1996, in Atchison, Kansas.

Brenda was employed at Yarco Company in Kansas City, Missouri, for 14 years as a sight manager. She was later employed as a hotel reservationist at International Hotel Group, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, until her health failed.

She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atchison, Kansas.

Survivors include her husband, Tem Hester, Leavenworth, KS, a son, Bryce Berry, Atchison, KS, a daughter, Brittany Berry, St. Joseph, MO, three brothers, Tracy Oliver, Atchison, KS, her twin, Brad Oliver, Axtell, KS, Scott Oliver, Dodge City, KS, a sister, Michelle Dixon, Lansing, KS, and two grandchildren, Bredyn and Brenden.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Molly Oliver, father, Ervin Ray Hudson, maternal grandmother, Odesser Oliver, and paternal grandmother, Magedna Hudson.
