Betty Jean Reese, 66, Atchison, Kansas, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 14, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, MO.
Betty was born October 25, 1948 at her parents' home at Bean Lake, the daughter of Argyle and Irene Farmer Reese. She attended elementary school in Weston, Missouri graduating from Weston High School.
Betty formerly worked at Jerry's Restaurant, F&A's Mexican Restaurant and Atchison Motor Inn and later in St. Joseph, Missouri as a nurse aide for Carriage Square Nursing Center.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Atchison. She enjoyed reading and taking walks around Atchison.
Survivors include one son, Jeff (Becky) Reese, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Tom Reese, Atchison, KS, Lloyd Reese, St. Joseph, MO, two sisters Bonnie Richardson, Atchison, KS, Mary Bowman, Atchison, KS, and four grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Lester, Willie, Everett, Marvin and a sister, Shirley White.
