Betty J. Bewley, 84, Atchison, Kansas, died Monday, February 23, 2015, at the Atchison Hospital.
A private family graveside will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Trinity Episcopal Garden. Flowers may be sent to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, with whom the final arrangements have been entrusted.
Betty was born February 18, 1931, in Everest, Kansas, the daughter of Loyd and Mildred Smith Madison. She attended school in Horton and graduated from NEKA-Vo-Tech.
She and Luther Bewley were united in marriage on December 23, 1946, in Troy, Kansas. Mr. Bewley preceded her in death on May 9, 2004.
Betty was employed by Atchison Leather Products and Atchison Public Schools, USD #409.
She enjoyed books, and all sports, especially KU basketball and NASCAR.
Survivors include, a son Michael (Annetta) Bewley, Atchison, KS, four grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Brandi and Micha, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
