Betty A. Goodman Becker, 86, Easton, Kansas died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Country Care Nursing Center, Easton, Kansas.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Gerard Senecal, OSB officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, January 5th from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with a rosary to be recited at 11:00 A.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Betty was born January 19, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska the daughter of Frank and Phoebe Smith Medsker. She moved to Atchison, Kansas as a young child and attended St. Benedict's Elementary School, graduating from Mt. Saint Scholastica Academy.

She and George Goodman were united in marriage and he preceded her in death on September 1, 1974. She and Loren Becker were united in marriage on March 15, 1986 in Atchison.

Betty was employed with Saunders Manufacturing Company for several years until her retirement.

Betty was a longtime and active member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #1175 of Atchison, formerly serving as President for two terms. A very loving person to those she met, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. An avid seamstress, she quilted, crocheted, enjoyed baking and making numerous wedding cakes for couples in the area and tending the roses in her flower garden.

Survivors include her husband, Loren Becker of the couples home in Easton, KS, a son, Michael Goodman, Easton, KS, two daughters, Patricia Goodman, Leavenworth, KS, Sandy (Larry) Gilliland, Easton, KS, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Goodman and George Goodman, a great grandson, Nikolai Gilliland and a brother, Robert Medsker.
