Barbara Ann Trimble, daughter of Frank and Ruth Dvorak, was born April 15, 1948, in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. She passed away peacefully at Atchison Senior Village on February 23, 2026, after a 4-month health battle.

Barbara Married Raymond Trimble on August 26, 1967, at St. Lukes’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. After 58 Years of marriage, they have 3 children: Melissa Trimble of St. Joseph, Missouri, Kimberly Woodson of Atchison, Kansas (husband Michael Woodson) and Amanda Trimble Scottsburg, Indiana. They also have two grandsons, Kurtis Woodson of Venita, Oklahoma (wife Alexandra Woodson) and Garrett Fisher of Atchison, Kansas and a great granddaughter Claire Fisher of Atchison, Kansas.

Barbara was educated at Indiana State University, Purdue University, and The American Press Institute. She was a newspaper publisher for over 35 years and an avid supporter of small-town newspapers. Also, she is a former President of the Iowa Newspaper Association.

She retired from newspapers in 2015, moving to Bella Vista, Arkansas with her husband Ray who survives. In 2020, they moved to Atchison to be closer to their daughter. Barb became a part-time reporter for the Atchison Globe from 2022 till 2024.
