Arthene Elaine Allen-Mackey

Arthene Allen-Mackey, 53, Atchison, Kansas, died November 15, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Atchison United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will precede the services on Saturday from 11:30 A.M. until time of services at the church. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, Atchison, Kansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Arthene was born February 28, 1959 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Arthur Wayne and Carolyn Jackson Allen. She attended Atchison Public Schools.

She and Alex Mackey were united in marriage in February of 1998 in Wichita, Kansas.

Arthene was employed with Cray Manor Nursing Center, Atchison, Kansas, Oskaloosa Nursing Facility, Oskaloosa, Kansas, Medical Staffing Network, Wichita, Kansas, and nursing facilities in Rose Hill, Kansas and most recently with Atchison Senior Village Nursing Center, Atchison, Kansas until she moved to Wichita. She was also a certified horticulturist.

She was a member of Second Christian Church, Atchison, Kansas.

Survivors include her husband, Alex Mackey, Wichita, KS, two daughters, Daimy Allen, Atchison, KS, Lacinda Briggs, Wichita, KS, five sisters, Peggy Clayton, Houston, TX, Sherry Allen, Houston, TX, Donis Allen, Atchison, KS, Toi Allen, Atchison, KS, Billy Allen, Topeka, KS and one grandchild, Cameron Allen, Atchison, KS.
