Anna J. Grouling

Anna J. Grouling, 69, Atchison, Kansas died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Atchison Senior Village Nursing Center.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict's Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 14th at 4:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 6:00 P.M. Memorial contributions are suggested to Achievement Services and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Anna was born January 28, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland the daughter of Charles Thomas Grouling and Anna Frances Murk Grouling. Anna moved with her family to Atchison in 1971. She attended school at St. Katherine's Elementary and Veneble Junior High School in Baltimore, Maryland and on her own ability chose to further her studies and graduated from Atchison High School in 2003.

She was employed in the housekeeping department of Skyway Motel in Atchison from 1971 until 1985. She then worked with Achievement Services of Atchison beginning in 1986 until her retirement.

Anna was a member of St. Benedict Parish and served as a representative on the board of Atchison Project Concern.

She is survived by a sister, Joanie (Phil) Drimmel, Lancaster, KS, a brother, Tom (Marbeth) Grouling, Des Moines, IA, two nieces, Jennifer Grouling, Muncie, IN, Laura Calovich, Tonganoxie, KS, a nephew, Casey Gilbert, Atchison, KS and five great nieces and nephews.
