Amy Jo Smith, 27, Atchison, Kansas died Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri.

Memorial services will be Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at New Life Assembly of God Church with Pastor Kenneth Watkins officiating. Inurnment will follow in Cummings Cemetery, Cummings, Kansas. Visitation with the family will be Friday, April 8th from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home to assist with final expenses and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Amy was born January 25, 1989 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Earl and Sheri Morden Smith. She attended elementary school in Atchison, Kansas and the Atchison High School.

Amy formerly was employed with Walmart, Alps Grocery and Fargo Assembly in Atchison. Most recently she was employed as a nurse aide with Medicalodge of Atchison until her health failed.

An avid cook, she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, participating in Zumba and spending time with her precious sons Matthew and Michael and her entire family.

Amy is survived by her fiancé Matthew Carroll, Atchison, KS, her two sons, Matthew J. Carroll, II, Atchison, KS, Michael James Carroll, Atchison, KS, her mother, Sheri Smith, Atchison, KS, her father and step-mother, Earl and Sylvia Smith, Lancaster, KS, a sister, Jessica (Joshua) Ballinger, Atchison, KS, a brother Johnathan Earl Smith, Topeka, KS, a nephew, Parker Ballinger, three nieces Ally, Jaicie and Kynleigh Ballinger and her fiance's parents Darren and Debbie Gilliland, Atchison, KS, maternal grandmother, Margaret Ann Morden, Des Moines, IA, step-sisters, Kelly Thompson, Leanna Miller, step-brother, Frank Truelove and a great niece, Gabbie.

Amy was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Marie Morden, her paternal grandparents, Jesse and Mildred Smith and maternal grandmother, Mildred Sherwood.
