Aloysius P. Bindel, 86, Kansas City, Missouri died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Abbot Barnabas Senecal, OSB, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation with the Family will be Saturday, December 21st from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Vernon Cemetery or Northcare Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Aloysius was born August 21, 1927, in Sabetha, Kansas, the son of Aloysius J. and Ruth Kasten Bindel. He attended grade school at Fidelity, Kansas and high school at Fairview, Kansas.
He and the former Ruth Evelyn Sumner were united in marriage on June 13, 1949, at St. Benedict's Church in Atchison, Kansas. Mrs. Bindel survives of the home.
Aloysius served in the United States Army from January 26, 1946 until his honorable discharge on July 3, 1947. He was employed with Pillsbury Feed in Atchison and later the Missouri Pacific Truckline in Kansas City, Missouri for 18 years. Then in 1984 he worked at Bindel Electric for 20 years before retiring in 2004.
He was a member of St. Therese Church in Parkville, Missouri. Aloysius enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Ruth Bindel, Kansas City, MO, a son Philip K. (Mary) Bindel, Platte City, MO, a daughter Patricia D. (Lonnie) Kimberling, Liberty, MO, three brothers, Herbert Bindel, Kansas City, MO, Virgil Bindel, Vassar, KS, Gerald Bindel, Kearney, MO, a sister Christina Miller, Atchison, KS, five grandchildren, a great granddaughter and two step great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A. J. Bindel and Ruth Kasten Bindel, three brothers Richard Bindel, Francis Bindel, Donald Bindel and a sister Lillian Falk.
