Alice Mae Chase, 68, St. Joseph, Missouri died at her residence early Monday, February 24, 2014.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 28, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Kickapoo Memorial Cemetery south of Atchison. Visitation with the family will be Friday, Feb. 28th from Noon until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Kickapoo Memorial Cemetery or St. Jude's Children's Hospital and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Alice was born April 4, 1945 in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of Andrew J. and Freda L. Rineholt Faught. She attended Franklin Elementary School and Atchison High School.
She and Billy L. Chase were united in marriage on April 21, 1962 at the First Christian Church in Troy, Kansas.
Alice was employed in her younger years with Atchison Leather Products Company and Horton Garment Factory. She then became employed at Rockwell International Company where she served as head of security for many years.
Alice enjoyed searching for houses to buy and decorate, collecting quilts and being out with people and dancing on Saturday nights. She and her husband especially enjoyed camping, boating and skiing. Her greatest love was volunteering for Second Harvest Food Pantry at First Christian Church in Atchison.
Survivors include her husband, Billy L. Chase of the couple's home in St. Joseph, MO, two sons, Kevin L..Chase, St. Joseph, MO, Billy L. Chase, Jr., Tacoma, WA, a daughter, Debi Stern, Alabama, two brothers, Roy Faught, Effingham, KS, Eugene "Butch" Faught, Effingham, KS, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Alice was preceded in death by a brother, John Faught, three sisters, Christine Rodkey, Helen Rau and Sue Bales.
