Alice Domann

Jul 23, 1937 — Oct 30, 2026

Atchison

Alice Ann (Lee) Domann, 89, of Nortonville, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2026 at Bea’s Place, a hospice home, in Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by care, compassion, and the love she so freely gave throughout her life.

Born on July 23, 1937, to Henry and Helen (Weber) Lee, Alice was the eldest of five children—a role she carried with quiet strength, responsibility, and a nurturing spirit that would define her life. She is survived by her siblings Catherine Wilburn of Horton, Kansas; Donna (Bob) Clemons of Kansas City, Missouri; Nancy (Ralph) Brownfield of New Port Richey, Florida; Steve Lee (Kathy Cattrell) of Potter, Kansas, and sister-in-law, Alvera Lee of Effingham, Kansas.

Alice was raised in the Potter community, south of Atchison, Kansas, where her roots in faith, family, and service were firmly planted. She graduated from Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison and went on to earn her nursing degree from Avila College—answering a calling that would shape not only her career, but her legacy.

On February 5, 1959, Alice married Leslie B. Domann at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Potter, Kansas. Together, they built a life centered on faith, resilience, and family in the Mooney Creek community. They were married for 27 years and reared four children: Christopher (Beverly) Domann of Nortonville, Kansas; Craig (Teddi) Domann of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Sheila (James) Bishop of Radford, Virginia; and Angela (Scott) Bolduc of Olathe, Kansas.

Alice’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren—Margaret, Kyle, Jacob, Brandon, Rylee, Megan, Johansen, Brock, and Emily—as well as step-granddaughters Rachel and Grayce, her great-granddaughters Charlotte, Rory, and great-grandsons Harvey, Lane, Benjamin, Ryder, and Jurney. Three future grandsons are on their way, Sonder Flynn, Domann boy #2, and Mangrum boy #2. Alice also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family who were touched by her kindness and care.

Alice was, at her core, a caregiver. As a nurse, she served in many roles—home health, nursing homes, physicians’ offices, and Fort Leavenworth—but to those in Mooney Creek, she was more than a nurse. She was a trusted presence, a steady hand, and often the first call in times of need. She didn’t just treat people—she cared for them, fully and personally.

At home, Alice created something just as meaningful. She built a space where family gathered, where laughter was constant, and where everyone felt known and welcomed. She had a gift for bringing people together—often around her table, where her cooking, and especially her cinnamon rolls became more than a recipe; they became a tradition, a memory, and a symbol of her love.

She showed up—consistently and wholeheartedly—for her children and grandchildren. Whether it was a ball game, a performance, or helping with homework, Alice was present. She didn’t just watch their lives unfold—she invested in them.

Those who knew Alice will remember her as a beautiful soul—gentle, generous, and unwavering in her care for others. Her life was not defined by grand moments, but by daily acts of love, service, and faith that quietly shaped everyone around her.

She was a long-time member of the Red Hats, Corpus Christi Altar Society and County Line Unit.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Lee; her brother, Michael Lee; and her sister-in-law, Cynthia Lee, and nephew Henry Lee.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the team at Bea’s Place and Midland Care Hospice House, and to her personal care provider, Geneva Vaughn, for the compassion and dignity shown in her final years.
