Patricia A. Emery

Patricia A. Emery, 71, Atchison, KS, a mother, grandmother, sister and friend died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mooney Creek Cemetery. Visitation with the Family will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association and may be left in care of the funeral home. Patricia was born June 9, 1942 at the Atchison Hospital the daughter of Fred and Bertha Jones Portenier, Sr. She attended Atchison High School, graduating in 1960.

She was a dedicated employee at the Saunder’s Mop Factory, working from 1961 until her retirement in 1998. She also was employed at Paolucci’s Restaurant and Lounge from 1993 to 1998.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

During her battle with diabetes, she was comforted by her loving family and friends. Patricia was an extraordinary, caring woman.

Survivors include four children, Patrick Emery, Atchison, KS, Brenda Fiedler, Perham, MN, Laurie Emery, Atchison, KS, Donna Thompson, Atchison, KS, her long time companion Robert Domann, two sisters, Lillian Berry, Lancaster, KS, Sandy Tull, Atchison, KS, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was greeted in heaven by her parents, her infant son Robert Lee Emery, her four brothers, Fred, Bill, Tom and John and a sister Helen Birkinsha.
